My classes started Aug 1st - Mandan. 14 students- now 13. One was given his walking papers last week. 5 of the students in my class were originally in the Minot class- they will be going to Minot upon conductor promotion. Minot started classes the same day as Mandan with a class if 21. That's right- at the end of Nov, Minot will have 25 new conductors providing they all make it that far. The one released from my class was part of the Minot group.
Last week Mandan had another hiring session. They are looking for 12 new trainees. Minot has a hiring session this coming week. They are looking for another 20. This is not gossip. Our Super Op clued us in last week with this info.Posted 8 months ago # -
Sheridan Wyoming has two classes this year that I know of,
A class of 15 that started on Oct. 3rd. and a class of 10 that starts on Oct.31st. I start Oct. 31st
I spoke with one of the trainers today and he told me that I shouldn't hold my breath for a position in Sheridan once I graduate in February. He said I'd probably be in Gillette wyoming or Alliance Nebraska or maybe even Lincoln.
He strongly advised me not to sign any long term leases in Sheridan for right now. In fact his words were," it might take a year or two to be able to hold in Sheridan and be prepared to be on the move"

Just started my class in Gillette, WY on 02/06/2012.
7 students- including myself.
Also in Gillette:
A class of about 10 started around Christmas 2011.And a class around that same size just graduated a week ago.
The original job posting for my class was looking for 15 students. They were satisfied hiring 7... that should give you an idea of the flow of business.
