    @AZLongRoad

    As others have stated, pay is determined by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement in force at the location where you hire on. In Ft. Worth we were told that training will be 13 weeks. Weeks 1-2 = $92.35/Day, weeks 3-8 = $131.75/Day, and weeks 9-13 = $152.31/Day. Paid 7 days a week(working or not)and our trainer would determine what days(or nights)we get off.

    You mention Ft Worth for the 27th, have you heard anyhing about final offer? Asking, because that is when and where I am projected to start. Got pushed from Jan 23 because of additional medical info I had to provide.

    @BottomSeeker

    I don't yet have a final. I had to go get cleared by a doc for a previously documented condition before they would schedule my physical. I got everything to them last week. They called me Monday morning and I just did my physical today. Last I spoke with the rep from Verifications, Inc. my background was done. Hopefully they will set me up for the IPCS testing soon. That's the last piece of the puzzle. Sounds like the process has been extra long for you. Best of luck and hope to meet you at training!

    Been long and a bit strssful at times. Good luck with strength test, will let you know when I see final. HR said should be about two weeka out, just hoping sooner. Don't like waiting. Mine was also prior medical issue, but they waited until day after Christmas to tell me what they need. The 30 days they gave me to provide it pushed me outside the window to start on time. Hopefully get to meet you in person in a few weeks.

    lkitchen2nd, where was it at this time Hilton Garden Inn again?

    Good luck and don't get to frustrated when it seems like things are going slow. RR's going to move at their pace I've learned. What is the hire date for the event you attended?

    17 guys were interviewed for 2 positions? How many showed up for testing and speech? Howe many will be starting class on the start date only 2? Also what was the projected start date?

    How long did it take after the hiring event to receive a 'go or no go' for a conditional job offer?

    There's no set time frame, I received mine the next day. Some individuals receive theres weeks later.

    @BIGgerm, do you have any sort of documentation showing they're paying 7 days. There are a few of us scheduled to start 2/27 in Amarillo, but they made no mention of being paid for 7 days, working or not. That would be great if they would...

    Hey guys, I was wondering, what's involved in the stress test.

    @DMFH83

    Don't have any documentation. That is just what the trainer said at the event. He was very clear on that point. Remember that this is a 24/7-365 job. So by that measure it makes sense. If you can be asked to work any day of the week, you should be paid for all of them. But again, this is what has been said FOR FT. WORTH. As I mentioned in a previous post, pay is determined by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement in force at the location where you hire on. It may be different in Amarillo.

    Anyone know what work is like in sioux city for condutors? Slow in the winters or pretty busy place? I have a good idea where they go..

    I would like to help Nikki, cjhx33 and 2001justin. I am a CSX conductor and I may be wrong, so don't take this to heart but Johnbea or Sean might help or correct me.

    Nikki, the stress test is just looking for any injuries to joints like in your legs or arms, shoulders, knees... etc.

    cjhx33, That test would more than likely be mathmatical.

    2001justin, winters are usually slow, but lately it has been very steady. Always be prepared not to work is the best suggestion.

    I received my final offer for Conductor trainee in Gillette, WY! Accepted it and completed the paperwork. Why wouldn't I? :)

    I would like to thank Sean, Freewood, John, and everyone else for all of their help and support throughout these past couple of years. Sean, I must publicly embarrass you and say that really cheesy but oh-so-true line... Couldn't have done it without you and your e-book! It was the start for my success. Thank you, thank you!

    On to the next chapter...

    Also, so everyone has a final timeline to refer to- from me...

    11/25/2011- Applied online.
    12/18/2011- Completed online assessment.
    12/21/2011- Received interview/hiring session invite.
    12/28/2011- Attended interview/hiring session.
    12/30/2011- Received Conditional job offer.
    01/28/2012- Received Final job offer.
    02/06/2012- Start date.

    2 months! Not bad? Lol. Good luck to everyone who's working through this exhausting, frustrating, and ridiculously amazing process.

    They made you wait an entire month?! Wow. I thought having to wait ten days for my final offer was bad enough. At any rate, you're in. Congrats!

    I was wondering if anyone works out of az or nv and knows if they will be looking for conductor trainees around there any time soon. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    I got a conditional offer and just did my hearing, vision, and urine test for conductor trainer. I still have to do the strength test but I haven't been contacted to make an appointment. Can anyone tell me what's next for me?

    Congrats Railroadess!

    @Sergior My crystal ball is broken at the moment but search the forum! You just have to wait until they contact you with further instructions...

    @Sergior...I was opposite of you. I did my strength test on a tuesday, then was called for the physical the next day. I will say this though, CHS called me to make the appt for the physical, and a different company called me for the strength test. It was an Ohio phone number while CHS number is from Virginia. Like Sean says constantly, its a waiting game. Good luck man

    And every process and location seems to be different. There is no rhyme or reason with the RR's. If they were organized they would be making an extra 10 billion dollars!
