Elim2010- thanks. I'm like alot of pll on here that's been applying for a long time. Do u know what they consider qualified because I am currently a laborer union worker and I take all the safety classes that my union has to offer like OSHA 10 and 30. I have some college and I went to tech school as well for motors and diesel mach. Worked as that for about 5 years. Is there another job that I could try to into to be more appeling to them ??

hey i have a question i recently got hired on with cp and i am currently tryin to odtain a job closer to family with csx in russell ky. i applied to csx about the same time i did with cp. csx said they found other people with better experince. csx just put up another job posting for russell ky again. soo my question is does anyone think that my exp i have gained with cp will maybe help me land this job now?

It never hurts just to try, the worst they can do is say no and you still have a job on the railroad. So good luck

kyboy07: I would recommend to apply again with your updated information and an updated resume. It is hard to tell exactly what will or will not catch their eye on one's resume/application but I can assure you that the training you had and your experience can't hurt. I will say that if you get the interview you need to be ready to discuss why you are leaving CP after only 3 months. They will want to know that you are not going to do it to CSX.

Congratulations 80shockey. They are starting 50 new conductors every Monday at REDI so you can bet that as soon as they can schedule you, they will. FWIW, it has been my experience that an email is appreciated in the HR department rather than a voicemail - which you will have to leave. Keep it short and to the point and they will email you back at their earliest convenience.

I've heard that your BMI has to be under 35,is this true?If you are over the 35 bmi number
is this a problem with csx?If so what would be the next step?

I got an email with the infamous "sorry to inform you...." but then got an email right after that, that says something like "disregard that last email, it was sent in error."
My job page shows its still pending review. I see it as they know I am there finally! Lol.

So, after reading the email again that says disregard the not selected email, it appears its a personal email from a hr lady. She signed it with her name and phone number. That's odd. Maybe good news though. As much as I want to call that number....I am going to refrain from it lol.

@mshaffer: Thanks buddy. I look forward to hopefully working with you in the future!!! I'll let you know how it goes. Interview is this Friday- I just need to figure out how to get the day off of work! I'm sorry I didn't check the older posts, but are you already working for them or interviewing?
@Sean: Yea, my wife works too so I can't take them with. My daughter couldn't miss all of that school anyways. She's 7. Thanks though. I'll suck it up and take care of business if I get the chance!

Rail_it, yes I work for CSX and I work out of Garrett. You will not regret taking the time off of work for the interview. Good luck again and study like a madman when you are at REDI and if you get to train from JCS when you get to your work area, he is a great dispatcher and learn from him. JCS is his initials.

Talked to my favorite hr lady today, via email, i was asking her about an assessment test i took for carman and she said i passed. She originally thought i was asking her about the strength test for conductor i failed so I think she felt sorry for me and said that she had asked the recruiter doing thethe carman sessionand to consider me when he did his invites. Hope she has some pull lol

When i got home the letter from CSX Medical had finally arrived. Apparently my heart rate got too high on the step test but i passed the biodex and arm endurance test. So guys, make sure you get some cardio exercise to better your chances. You can bet i am
