Tariku - Do you mean "Locomotive Engineer" as in driving the locomotive? or do you mean "Mechanical Engineer" on locomotive diesel engines?

Locomotive engineer is based of senority so going to a school for it is a waste of money. You need a Conductor school and they are all listed in the e-book.

Tariku - You CAN'T be an engineer before Conductor training!!!!!fees are high in private schools. Just apply for Conductor jobs with class 1 Railroads. Work the Extra Board and learn the territory, then apply for Engineer

Some railroads require you to become an Engineer when the time is needed. CSX will send you to school after you learn the territory for so many years and after the guys that are retiring as Engineers. Chances are you will become an Engineer before you really want to be one.
