@Sean and Freewod - I guess this is a good sign when the forum slows down a bit. The site was hoping with a bunch of new people looking for answers. Congrats to all the newly hired train employees.

If you don't have it yet,get the "Railroad Job Guide" E-Book!!! It worked for me and I am not just saying this. Sean,

Just hired on with NS and start my training June 6th!!! Your ebook has been an invaluable tool along the way.

When I went to the hiring session I followed your instructions to the tee. They do watch your every move as soon as you walk in the door. Many of the candidates could not follow simple instructions and were not invited to interview. 70 people showed up and took the test and only 9 got a chance to interview. I was #5 and knew if given the opportunity to sell myself then I would do fine. They only gave 4 of us a conditional offer.

Went to the physical and did well and passed my background check that day. I received my hired notice 3 days later!

I would also like to thank you and Freewood personally for all the support. I would also like to thank the hundred of posts that proved to be valuable during the interview. You ebook is gold and the information a must have for those looking to land a job with the RR.

    Thanks again Devil Dog!!!

    Jim

Right on man that is awesome. I'm gonna send out an email and use your post! So many people say "I been to 4 hiring sessions and still have not got an interview" They do not
even know what they are doing wrong. It could be as simple as not pushing your chair in when asked...

    Congratulations Jim!

    That's good to hear Kristian.

We have a discussion thread for short-lines, so feel free to post further information about your experiences there, for others who might not be looking to hire out with the BIG 5.
