    VI doesn't seem to be the best about communication. I had to call them to verify mine was done since I never heard from them aince November.

    @Big I have not read all of your posts so maybe you have already done this but I would call VI directly and very nicely ask them if they could check their records and see if the need any more information from you. The hold up may be something that you can clear up...

    I literally just got off the phone with VI. They have been very gracious and accommodating every time I have called them.

    At least you guys are getting somewhere. My class was cancelled and I have no idea what's going to happen next. I'm unemployed right now so I have nothing BUT time to dwell on this...

    Hi guys! This is my first post and I am happy to report that I start as a conductor trainee on March 5th in Pasco, Wa. Seans book and advice to dress up was instrumental in my success. I am 50 years old and the fact that I dressed up in a suit helped I believe, because they thanked me for dressing up in my interview. My advice is to be persistant and read the posts and Seans book. Good luck!

    Why do you keep talking about bumping people or having more seniority than them? Did you get picked on as a child? I think you're forgetting what the railroad is all about.

    I think in this case, it's just razzing. Unfortunately, there are those who will bump someone off, just because they can! Not for any other reason! As for what the railroad is about, it's a great career for the right person, but it's also cold and hard, and your daily routine is the art of survival. It's certainly not a great big lovefest! Don't let that slip away!

    ALB, thanks for the congrats! I don't sweat the razzing. I will take my lumps like everyone else and like I have in several other jobs. I have been the new guy many times. I look forward to my new career. Good luck to you all!

    bwle - Just razzing, it's what we do. I don't know if you are hired, if you are you would know that Seniority is everything, it determines how we choose and hold a job that we want. Bumping is a way of life, bumping someone from a job who has lower seniority than you because that's the job you want, then they go off and bump someone else.

    Unfortunately I'm gonna find out the hard way what seniority is all about. I just hired on today, and I drew 19 out of 19. lmao Oh well, I'm looking at being in the RR for 30+ years, so I'll just have to suck it up for the time being.

    Hey Sean, your e-book helped out a lot! I just received a conditional offer from Union Pacific as a train dispatcher one day after I interviewed with a start date on April 3rd. Thanks a lot!

    Got my final offer with an address to be at and a time to be there. Hopefully they don't cancel or delay the class. I look foward to this career so much. I am 25 and I think I am in a super advantageous position. My ultimate goal is to end up in Colorado some day and possibly move up to engineer. Hope to see some of you guys somewhere on the system someday. My new (and hopefully final) career starts 3/12 in Beaumont, TX.

    Congrats to all of you! Enjoy the ride!

    @keith
    Don't sweat too much! If you now have a final, the class is more than likely in no danger of cancelling. There would have to be a MAJOR change in business patterns for that to happen. Not impossible, but not very likely!
