Glad we're back up, Sean!
I have a question for anyone who can answer... what is the physical like for KCSR, what does it consist of?
Posted 6 months ago # -
The one I took last week was hearing/vision weight/drug test (pee in the cup) then the doctor had me move arms around, legs around squat...basically looking to see if everything worked good. then the hernia check....Thats it....

Yeah they are basically the same as a transportation physical. They want to make sure everything works.

Ok, cool - thanks guys... was wondering about it but it seems simple & straightforward! No worries but just waiting for the call!

@kheard73 How many got hired in ur class for Kendleton.
Posted 6 months ago # -
@ss1102 I know that there was at least 6 people at the interview the day that I went, and I only know of myself and one other being hired. Not to say that others didn't get picked up though...

@kheard73 Well good luck with class. I started in April with 7 of us hired for Kendleton. Since then they have hired 10 more not including your class. The Training will last for about 4 months (4 weeks in class & 12 weeks in the field). Its pretty easy just pay attention in class and you will learn alot out in the field. Good luck and Congrats!!

@ss102 Thanks, I look forward to getting started. Hows the work out in Kendelton? I drive by every morning and it always seems to look busy....
Posted 6 months ago # -
@kheard73 The work is pretty steady, once you mark up you will be on the xtraboard and you will go out for a couple of days and be off for 2-3 days, then back out. It changes all the time. You will go to either Beaumont or Robstown. Once you mark up the pay gets a whole lot better. As your training you will get $127.49 per day plus meals & other things, but they will go over that in class. Just remember Safety First!! Hope to meet you when you get out of class and in the field. Good Luck!!

Damn thanks...

They are the smallest Class 1 RR so they have less openings..
Posted 3 months ago # -
They may be small but they are well worth triing to get on with. I grew up on KCS lines as well as FRISCO & MOPAC any one of those rr's would be worth hiring on with. Of course frisco is with BNSF & MOPAC is with UP 1
