    Did you guys get answers back from apps on their new or old system (pre or post Jan 5)?
    I just got a thanks but no thanks from an app on the old system I applied for last year. All my jobs on the new page still say pending.

    I can't find job numbers on the new site. The old ones all had numbers such as DM5938 or something similar to that. The new site doesn't seem to use the same system. My rejection letter said job xxxxxx....I can log into my old account and see that exact number so I assume that's it even though I applied for a position in the same city on the new site.

    I had the same issue fastvsix. All they asked of me though was to create a new profile under the new system. As long as you have that you should be good.

    HEY FOLKS, quick question ... On February 8th I was invied to a conductor hiring session in Birmingham, AL. I assume I passed the test because I was one of 14 who was interviewed. I haven't received any word back, no rejection email nor a phone call. HR representative said 48-72 hrs or possible 3-5 days and we should know our outcome... I still havnt heard a word. Is this normal for NS? I know or keep telling myself that no news, is great news.. just getting nervous. If anyone can help or put some input I'd be much appreciative. thanks!

    Just like Machinist817, I got called for a interview for Conductor in South Carolina back on Jan 7th, I was one of 9 selected for a interview after the test.
    Since then I haven't heard anything from NS either I got the job or not. I check my email 10 times a day, no phone calls, and nothing in snail mail.
    Do this mean I didnt or did get it?

    THE last session I attended I was interviewed as well, but received the thanks but no thanks no more than 48 hours after. The one thing I keep telling myself, is no news is good news. That's the last thing I remember the HR guy telling me as I was walking out of the conference area. I want to know what other people went through.. how long they had to wait, and maybe give me some hope? Surely if we were rejected they wouldn't wait a month to tell us.. right?

    @ Machinist817

    I was invited to a hiring session in November about a week before Thanksgiving for the apprentice signal trainee position, I thought the interview went well, except they started asking me questions not related to the apprentice signal trainee job. After a month went by and no call or e-mail, I started both getting my hopes up and thinking it might be mine. After two months and not hearing anything, I called the HR department and was told by them that I did not get the position.

    I was a little heart broken, but oh well, life goes on, right? Well, about a month after that, exactly one week of starting an old job again I got a call from one of the HR guys offering me a Communications and Electronics job. I took the offer and almost a month later I am still going through the the medical process. I is a lot of hoops and red tape to get through, I have had to take a few unpaid days off work to go to the doctor for check ups and such. I think its worth it though.

    So to give you some advice, I would Google the Norfolk Southern Human Resources department and give them a call.

    hiya..

    thanks

    @fastvsix

    i received call backs from apps that were after jan5th.

    i applied to three jobs at two separate locations. my first invite was from my last application. second invite was from the location that i applied to, two jobs. and for the third job i didnt receive any notifications at all.

    so i think it depends on each location, one location could be much busier than another in terms of trying to fill vacancies.
