Dear Sean and forum friends,
I would like to be sure about words that I use in my resume and here are some questions:
I looked at Norfolk Southern website and they have a lot of job postings for conductor now.. but peeps will be hired as conductor trainees first and will be trained to be certified conductors..
so which one is the right objective in my resume?1. Objective: To obtain a position as a conductor trainee at Norfolk Southern Railroad.
2. Objective: To obtain a position as a conductor at Norfolk Southern.Should I omit the words 'trainee' and 'Railroad' to simplify my objective?
Thank you forum peeps!
Posted 9 months ago # -
I would put that you want to be a conductor with Norfolk Southern. You don't want to be a trainee; that's just the means to get to conductor! As for where to include Railroad or not, just look on their website, and see if they call themselves Norfolk Southernd Railroad, or what. Use the exact same name that they identify as.
Hope that helps!

jd428jd,
Looks like a great track record!
Just curious, which BNSF hub are you looking to apply for? I noticed all of your college specs happen to be in my backyard.
Posted 8 months ago # -
I had applied in the past at the San Bernadino and los Angeles hubs but no luck. Most recently I applied in Tulsa and Seattle.
Posted 8 months ago # -
I was looking to apply in Seattle or Pasco. Need to prepare a little more if I plan to relocate for a position. Would love to, but can't at the moment!
For BNSF, I've noticed that any listings in SoCal are few and far between.
I wish you the best of luck! :)
